Long Distance Graduation

I was deployed to Honduras with the Army Reserve during my graduation ceremony.

The Unique Class of 81

My class of 1981 was the final class under the quarter system, and my gown didn't fit.

COMMENCEMENT JUNE 1941

COMMENCEMWNT WAS HELD IN THE GYM INSTEAD OF THE STADIUM BECAUSE OF RAIN. WE WERE SCHUDLED TO BE MARRIED ON JUNE 19, IN THE ROSE GARDEN. IT CONTINUED TO RAIN UNTIL THE 18TH, AND THE MORNING OF THE 19th DAWNED CLEAR FOR OUR 7:30 A.M. OUTDOOR WEDDING

Thankfully, ISU was on the Quarter system (vs. Semester) so I could work a quarter, go to school a quarter, etc.

In May, 1970, I proudly walked across the platform, was "hooded" by my professor, Dr. Richard Barnes,and got my PhD in physics. I was five months pregnant, and had my son and second child, Thomas, September 14, 1970. His father is Paul Lunde, JD.
