Benefits

Our compensation program is designed to attract, retain and reward high-performing individuals. It ensures that staff members are compensated according to job values and skills which are competitive in the marketplace. At the ISU Foundation we offer a full range of benefits to meet the needs of our diverse work force.

Medical Insurance
Two medical plans are offered, a PPO and an HMO through Wellmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Iowa. The employee and the ISU Foundation share the cost of the plan.

Dental Insurance
A comprehensive dental plan is offered through Delta Dental of Iowa. The plan provides four levels of benefits: preventive and diagnostic, basic restorative, major restorative, and orthodontic. The employee and the ISU Foundation share the cost of the plan.

Life Insurance
The ISU Foundation provides life insurance equal to two times your annual earnings and accidental death insurance equal to an additional four times your annual earnings.

Optional additional life insurance is available. The employee pays the full cost of the additional coverage.

Dependent life insurance is available in two package options. The employee must also enroll in the additional life insurance to be eligible for the dependent life insurance. The employee pays the full cost of the additional coverage.

Long-Term Disability Insurance
Employees are automatically covered following 90 days of employment. The plan covers 66 2/3 percent of your monthly compensation. The ISU Foundation pays the cost of the disability coverage.

Flexible Spending Accounts
Pre-tax Health Care and Dependent Care spending accounts are available for employees to participate by payroll deduction.

Leave Programs
Full-time employees accrue 16 hours of vacation leave and 12 hours of sick leave each month. Part-time employees accrue both vacation and sick leave at a pro-rated rate.

The ISU Foundation observes nine paid holidays per year.

Retirement Plan
Our 403(b) Defined Contribution Retirement Plan is through TIAA-CREF. All employees are enrolled in the plan after completing 90 days of employment and are 100 percent vested with the first contribution. The employee contributes 5 percent of her or his annual salary on a pre-tax basis. The ISU Foundation contributes 10 percent of the employee's annual salary.

Tuition Assistance
Tuition assistance provides staff members the opportunity to receive reimbursement for tuition up to three times per year for coursework taken at accredited institutions. Awards may be granted for up to three (3) undergraduate/graduate credit hours each semester.

Long Term Care Insurance
Employees are offered the opportunity to enroll in LTC insurance through John Hancock Insurance. Employees pay the full cost of the coverage.

Vision Insurance
Employees are offered the opportunity to enroll in vision (hardware/contacts only) insurance through AVESIS. Employees pay the full cost of the coverage.
