AMES, Iowa-- Iowa State University benefactors have made gifts and future commitments surpassing $673.1 million to the Iowa State University Foundation during Campaign Iowa State: With Pride and Purpose. This milestone eclipses the private support that was generated during the previous two fundraising efforts combined at Iowa State.
Since the fundraising effort was started on July 1, 2003, Iowa State benefactors have supported a number of projects including new facilities such as the Alumni Center, Hach Hall (chemistry building), and the Dr. W. Eugene and Linda Lloyd Veterinary Medical Center. An additional 60 endowed faculty positions and more than 580 new student scholarships have also been created during Campaign Iowa State, the university’s $800 million fundraising effort.
“Campaign Iowa State is succeeding because of the wonderful support of the many alumni and friends of Iowa State University,” said Gregory L. Geoffroy, president of Iowa State University. “Thanks to them, the campaign is transforming Iowa State with many new scholarship programs for students, and support for faculty, programs and facilities.”
Campaign Iowa State has raised more than $208.7 million for programmatic support, $206.9 million for student support including scholarships, $144.7 for faculty support and $113.0 for new and renovated facilities on campus.
“Campaign Destiny: To Become the Best,” which concluded in June 2000 raised $458.6 million in outright and deferred gifts. The previous campaign, “Partnership for Prominence,” raised $214.5 million and was concluded in 1993. The combined total of those two campaigns was $673.1 million.
